The Sixth Sense
The film stars Bruce Willis, Haley Joel Osment, Toni Collette and Olivia Williams.
The Sixth Sense the format from the film shows Crowe getting shot then it skips along 6 months then continues on from that point. The first thing you see is Vincent hiding in the upstairs bathroom pulling a gun out of the sink shooting Crowe. The film the skips 9 months to Philadelphia where he meets Cole a kid who can see dead people throughout the film Crowe tries to help Cole come to grips with seeing dead people. At the end of the film you find out that Crowe was a ghost a few ways to understand this before the end is that the only time Crowe interacts with the world the thing he touches is red which people used to believe that the colour red is from when the spiritual world joined with the physical also the clothes that Crowe wears in the film are clothes he was wearing or touched before he was shot. The way each scene was set out for Crowe meant he never had to move anything out of the way in the restaurant scene the table was already pulled out and the check was taken automatically so he didn't have the chance to try and take it away from the table.
The way the film was portrayed and filmed was great during my first viewing of the film i had no idea that the main character is a ghost but the way it was shown in the last scene of the film was great showing the scenes where Bruce Willis had flashbacks to key points in the film with cole telling hi he sees dead people the door not opening then showing a table blocking the door off and his wedding ring dropping to the floor then showing the rest of his death.
The Genre of the sixth sense is a horror/thriller and we can tell because of the fact that ghosts are walking around and that only Cole can see which gives you the perspective that either he is making it up or it is real and ghosts are haunting him but further into the film you see that the ghosts arrant terrifying they just want to pass a message on to tell people about their killers.
To fully get to grips with this film you will need to watch it a second time there is a twist ending at the end where you see that Malcolm is actually a ghost and has finished what he needed to pass on he helped a boy with the same conditions as Vincent his former patient who shot him at the beginning of the film.
